Goats

I imported Western bloodline breeding stock out of Oregon to get quality stock difficult to obtain in Maine.  I decided on Pygora and Pycazz as my choice of fiber goats after spinning their fiber.  Pygora fiber comes in three types, A, B, and C.  They go from mohair, to an even blend and to cashmere.  The Pycazz that have a type C fleece tend to produce two harvest of cashmere a year, a definite plus if you like Cashmere.  My Pycazz are foundation stock of their breed.

    More information on Pycazz goats.

We are working on establishing the Pycazz goats as a breed.  Our definitions and standards are in a state of a change at this time.  Up dates will be made as possible.  Please feel free to go to the breed founder's web site for more in depth information.   http://www.brynhollowfarm.com/    Here is a brief overview.

The Pycazz are a result of an even blend of cashmere and pygora goats.  Up to three quarters of either breed is acceptable.  Pycazz goats almost always produce cashmere fine fiber twice a year.  All Pycazz goats tested to date have also had a 100% comfort factor, no scratchy fibers!  White goats also tend to have a high sheen to their fiber.

When a  Pycazz goat has "normal" cashmere fiber growth, they still tend to out produce cashmere goats.  Even with their smaller size!
